With more than 135 participants, this year’s Queen for a Day luncheon, sponsored by Akerman LLP and Fred and Debbi Baldwin, proved to be the best one yet! Held at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club, attendees wore their best "queenly" attire to wow the pageant judges and compete for the magnanimous “Queen for a Day" title.

Myra Bulis, dressed as the Queen of Dairy, claimed the 2016 Queen for a Day title. Tara Cioci, dressed as Galinda the Good Witch, was the runner up. Honorable mention was awarded to the two Queen rock group tables complete with Freddy Mercury and his musicians and a proper British tea party.

Special thanks to our champagne and wine sponsor Breakthru Beverage, our master of ceremonies, Amanda Austin, of LIPS Fort Lauderdale, our esteemed judges Lisa Scott Founds, Captain Lee Rosbach, Eric Pfeil, Gary Correll, and Steve Savor for donating their time. Additionally, we would like to thank Lee Anderson, Johnathan Chizmar, Larny Killen, Joaquim Payne and Richard Scott for escorting all of our queens down the runway.

“Our annual ‘Queen for a Day’ luncheon was such a royal success due to the hard work of our amazing AngeLs, staff, sponsors, and the generosity of all who attended,” said Bobbi Wigand, Executive Director of Victory Living Programs. “The luncheon raised more than $11,000 that will support our many programs that help individuals with disabilities reach their highest level of independence.”
