The spotlight this month is shining on Reynald French, a 50-year-old gentle soul, who has been in the Victory Living family for more than three years.
Rey is of Haitian descent but was born in Corona, in the borough of the Bronx, New York. As a child, his mother, Jacqueline, made the decision to teach him both English and Creole which resulted in him being fluent in both languages. Rey has always been motivated to succeed. Born blind in one eye and deaf in one ear, he was always determined to make big strides in life. When faced with challenges, he likes to push ahead.
He worked as a courier in New York City, a career pursuit he looks back on fondly, especially his early morning routine.
He would begin his mornings with five cups of coffee, before he boarded the truck to deliver packages all across the Big Apple. He loved that job. He continues to love those precious memories of living and working in New York City.
As life changes arose, his mother wanted to relocate to Florida, so they could live closer to family. His mother, a Haiti native, also wanted to live closer to her country making a move to Florida the perfect fit.
Since the move, Rey sought to change his faith. Raised Catholic, he converted to Mormonism. He stopped drinking coffee and the occasional beer. Two years ago, he became an Elder in his church.
Rey currently works at YouFit Health Clubs, ensuring that the club’s equipment is well maintained. In his free time, he enjoys bowling, music, dancing, and good Haitian food. His friends say that he has a gentle spirit, always smiles, and has a sincere desire to make everyone’s day better.
